Philology

Our political class seems to be making much use of the formula ramping up the roll-out.

Can anyone analyse this neatly trochaic formula for me?

Surely 'political class' is an oxymoron?

They have issues around rolling out a robust framework on the ground. It's time to step up to the plate on the levelling up agenda.

This is what, in my academic days we referred to as “MBA pish waffle” a thoroughly disreputable way of substituting that kind of nonsense for plain words. The practitioners of that praxis were unconscious of the fact that what the were saying was vague to the point of meaninglessness. I am a simple soul who believes that things should be as simple as they can be as long as no meaning is lost. Having said that I found difficulty in keeping under the word count when writing a Master’s dissertation on one part of one of Peter Maurin’s Easy Essays.

Maybe because it's uphill?
