At the Glasgow Event, they had a mock up of part of a dinosaur, which advised the viewers, in perfect English, that it isn't very nice to become extinct.
I am at a loss to know ... even in its own terms ... what the logic of this demonstration is supposed to be. Were they really suggesting that, had Conference Venues existed all those millennia ago ... had there been tiny Swedes running around saying Blah Blah ... somehow or other the meteor whose impact led to the extinction of the dinosaurs would have been averted?
Does it "matter", in the view of these people, when one species is replaced by others, as the dinosaurs were by the mammals including us? If so, in their view, why?
We are surrounded by madmen.

Benedict XIV is one of the greatest scholar Popes ever. And he has written extensively on this topic! How can this be tackled for the good of the Church?!?! The planet is not in danger. No sizeable asteroid is scheduled to impact the planet any time soon nor is the sun due to engulf Earth for another few billion years.
The reality seems to be that profligate emission of greenhouse gases is causing the environment to become increasingly inimical to human existence. The cause is not so much saving the planet as saving our skins.
Consider this papal fervorino:

Sounds like you buy into the idea that:
* there was an era of dinosaurs
* an era of mammals came after it
* we came in that era.
If you ask me, a Pterosaur from Ankerschlag and a Whale from Lienz don't represent different eras, but different habitats of pre-Flood Austria as up to 2957 BC.
And by then man had tested God's patience for 2242 years (though Julius Africanus prefers 2262).
