S Elizabeth

Here we go ... another of these Saints (quite a lot of them women) with Proper hymns in the Breviary. And, inevitably, the give-away information in the lections of their connexion with Urban VIII.

What I want to know is:

Did Papa Barberini canonise them and then decide to write the hymns ... or did he canonise them because he wanted to write the hymns?

Did any of his hymns survive into the Liturgy of the Hours?

I myself haven't used the LOTH since... well, a couple of years in the late 70s; a gentleman at the Facebook page 'TLM Discussion Forum', where I shared your question, points out two at least of Urban VIII's hymns in it: for the feast of Saint Teresa of Jesus, Regis superni nuntia and Haec est dies, qua candidae.

Oh what fun! Some of us (in a Mediterranean Order) have another Beatus (sans hymn) who sadly trumps her (through patronage), so we haven’t got to sing them. But I might read them before bed.
