Do they all matter??

(1) Black lives matter.
(2) White lives matter.
(3) Gay lives matter.
(4) Unborn lives matter.
(5) Islamic lives matter.
(6) Jewish lives matter.
(7) Christian lives matter.
(8) Criminal lives matter.
(9) Women's lives matter.
(10) Men's lives matter.
(11) Trans lives matter.
(12) Cis lives matter.
(13) All human lives matter.

Which of these facile and laconic slogans would arouse the frenzied fury of our cultural gauleiters? Which of them would make the same exacting judges purr with happy approval?

Context for foreigners: English footballers have been playing with (1) on their shirts. On Saturday, a person of darker pigmentation killed three men of lighter pigmentation. Somebody is being urgently sought by Mr Plod for trailing through the sky a banner saying (2). The three men killed, according to rumour, were homosexualists.

Isn't it important to ask if any of the three men killed were left handed?
Dear Father, sometimes you are brillian, sometimes completely baffling, sometimes, I fear, utterly crass.

Dear Father. You have to tread water and go with the flow, don'cha'know? Black Lives Matter even more than the life of Jesus matters.

Mount Quarantine in the Jordan Valley is where Jesus Christ fasted and prayed for forty days in preparation for His public ministry.

https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-159422654/view

The devil tempted Him with our ancient and permanent enemies/temptations- The World, the Flesh, and the Devil – and Jesus defeated all temptations and told Satan to get behind Him.

In America, our Quarantine is well past forty days and we have bent our knees before our Satans – Trump, Fauci. Brix and a legion of other putative experts - and we keep them in front of us.

If only our Quarantine was but forty days.

The practice of quarantine, as we know it, began during the 14th century in an effort to protect coastal cities from plague epidemics. Ships arriving in Venice from infected ports were required to sit at anchor for 40 days before landing. This practice, called quarantine, was derived from the Italian words quaranta giorni which mean 40 days.

Let's say the Shutdown/Quarantine began on March 12. March 12 + forty days = April 21 but on that date, America was still panicked...

Gray Lives matter. Gray matter matters.

Dear Unknown

I don't understand. My rather obvious point was that all human lives "matter" equally. I expressed this by demonstrating the absurdity of those who virtue-signal by narrowing the proposition and by then attacking anybody who doesn't go along with their agenda.

May I very tentatively suggest that it is you who are crass?

ABS considers Trump "one of our Satans." Then the solution is to vote for a senile Democrat who, by proxy of his puppeteers, will deliver the joys of socialism (condemned by Leo XIII and Catholic social teaching beyond Leo), perpetual racial pandering and warfare, the increased butchering of the innocent unborn, a cemented collusion with Communist China, the continued destruction of our cities, the expansion of poverty-perpetuating welfarism, a shameless paternalism towards African-Americans, corruption and mendacity in the high places, rank nepotism, the cynical and continued enslavement of African-Americans to the party that begat the KKK and the Jim Crow laws, the accelerated historical anti-Christian attacks on God and religion of the Left, the intensified Marxification of all our institutions---and many more delights. But all of this is, of course, nothing compared to Trump's undiplomatic tweets and coarse private remarks about female genitalia. Out with the American Satan; in with the puppet of globalist tyranny!

The problem with the list of statements is that, although they are all grammatically parallel, if you consider their contexts, they may carry a great deal of baggage. The Black Lives Matter campaign was started or restarted because of horror at the extra-judicial killings by white policemen of unarmed black people who did not pose a threat, and the delay or absence of appropriate redress. The White Lives Matter slogan has, in the UK, been taken up by far-right, possibly fascist agitators, who have been seen making Nazi salutes. one could go through the rest of the list giving context in this way.

Furthermore, since you cannot possibly be suggesting that the fact that the three men killed in Reading were homosexuals (I do not recognize 'homosexualists') in any way justified their murder, I do not see the point in mentioning it.

The genesis of the Black Lives Matter movement is much older than the senseless killing of George Floyd: it has roots in Marxist agitation campaigns, well-funded by civilization- dissolving forces that oppose the Christian West as a matter of principle and policy. The great and present threat, for anyone to see, is not a few neo-Nazis making a salute but rather the alarming march through the institutions that Antonio Gramsci prescribed and which is now well underway all through the West. That any Christian today would be worrying about a few, scattered neo-Nazis not only boggles the mind and defies logic, but, in my view, denotes a leftist sympathy that aids and abets the program of those who would eradicate our way of life and perhaps those who uphold it---in other words, our common enemy. Strange times, and people, indeed!

In my case it's blotchy pink lives matter.

G.K. Chesterton called African slavery the "criminal catastrophe" of the U.S., which with 4 MILLION slaves was the largest slave society in world history in 1860. The lives of slaves certainly didn't matter as much as those of whites, and I can say that in my own lifetime (born 1947) the lives of the descendants of those 4 million have often not been considered to matter as much as whites. So the slogan, BLM, speaks in opposition to a concrete historical reality that it would be crass to ignore or to mock. Sadly, the slogan has been abused by its proponents as well, particularly by those who lead the eponymous organization/political party, of very dubious character, but also by other pro-black extremists who assume the worst of all whites and expect us to shoulder responsibility for the sins of (some) of our forefathers. We need to talk, but the situation has become so polarized that reasoned dialogue is practically impossible.

BLM should actually be called WLM as in White Leftists Matter. If you look at their rallies (aka looting, burning things down, attacking bystanders), it mostly white people who are leftists.
