Please ...

A kind friend in America tells me that my last two posts have not been provided by "RSS". I know I can hardly ask you to let me know if you are not seeing this, but it would be helpful if very briefly you could indicate that you are.

And do you have any ideas? I am hopeless at IT.

Thanks.

  1. I am seeing your posts via RSS (that's how I watch for new posts!). I saw this one, and all the recent ones, at all three URLs:

    https://liturgicalnotes.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default (Atom feed)
    https://liturgicalnotes.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss (RSS feed)
https://draft.blogger.com/feeds/8940364093450837549/posts/default (I'm unsure why this one exists, but it also appears to be RSS)

  3. I subscribe to your posts via RSS. Each post is visible to me by title with the first few sentences of the post included. Thank you for including this way of following your blog feed!

  4. I did see this in America via RSS. But Fr. Z linked to you very recently and that post I could not open.

  7. Fr Hunwicke,

I normally follow your blog using RSS. This post ("Please ...") did appear in my RSS feed; the previous two ("Holy Antipopes" and "Papa Lambertini") did not appear in RSS.

What that means, I cannot tell you. I am fairly well-versed in all things computer & network (earning a living that way, as I do); but one cannot know everything and the details of RSS is one of the things I choose not to know.

    Best of luck.

  10. Yes, some posts are regularly missing from the rss. I'm not sure what to do about it.

  11. Another way to keep up is to bookmark Fr Hunwicke's blog and check it regularly. Link:

  12. I regularly use feedly.com to keep track of blogs, including yours. In feedly, the two following posts don't show up:

    - Holy Antipopes, pray for us
    - Papa Lambertini's conundrum

This is the the RSS feed URL feedly says it's using:
    http://liturgicalnotes.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

However when I look at the raw XML of that feed, the two entries above *do* show up there! I also tried a different feed reader (thunderbird), and they show up there as well.

So there's nothing wrong with your blog that I can see; it seems something is happening in feedly's system to filter these entries out.

  13. Am getting all your posts and I am most grateful for their content Occasionally I am foolish enough to attempt to translate some Latin with my schoolboy experience of 60 years ago but humility need a reminder now and again

  14. I follow via RSS too, usinng Inoreader. 'Holy Antipopes' and 'Papa Lambertini's Conundrum' didn't appear in the feed, for who knows what reason. But I always open the blog up to read the posts (rather than reading them in Inoreader, I mean), so I noticed those two listed in your left hand column. Hadn't realized until now that they weren't in the feedreader's feed, in fact.
