As we look prayerfully foreward to the next pontificate, I find the Gamaliel of Acts 5:33-42 more and more in my mind.
I pray that we may not fall into the temptation of vindictiveness. I pray indeed that Tradition may recover from the dark stranglehold that this weird pontificate has striven to impose upon it. But the last thing the Church needs, I believe, is a reverse version of the Bergoglian hatreds ... directed against other movements in the Church.
The Spirit moves where He wills. We do not need another pontificate in which some angry and narrow-minded man attempts to impose his own conviction that anybody who sees things differently from himself, is rigid and hateful and needs to be smashed.
Nor do we need a continuation of PF''s obsessive micromanagement ... strange documents demanding tthat they come into force at the same moment as tomorrow morning's breakfast croissants ... prescriptions about what rites young newly ordained priests may not be permitted to celebrate ... stringent rules about which churches in a diocese a reprobated rite can be used in, and what information is not allowed to be given in parish news-sheets. When the malevolent gloom of PF no longer casts its shadow over the Latin churches, we don't want another species of gloom, another list of obsessions, a new canon of papal personal hatreds.
The Anglican Catholic Manifesto Catholicity of 1947 spoke appreciatively and wisely about the preservation in the post-Tridentine Catholic Church of the many-sidedness of medieval Church-life; about the vastness and richness of its organic life and the existence of strong theological tensions within a single ecclesiastical body, with the spontaneity and vitality which such contained tensions always bring to theological and ecclesiastical thinking.
Heresy, of course, does need to be repressed; but not every new and strange idea is necessarily a heresy.
Didn't somebody once talk about a thousand blossoms flourishing?
We might be ... should be ... surprised about what the Spirit might bring to pass.
Dear Father. ...These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered..
ReplyDeleteThe wicked have struck The Holy See and come into possession of the Holy See in the person, praxis and programs of Francis and the Prelature has been silenced by fear into not opposing him or facing him down and many sheep have been scattered and scandalised to the point where they have simply quit the Faith once delivered and have thrown-in with various schismatic and/or heretical sects.
We know from the fairly recent past - the 1960s Synod - that the powers that be are loathe to actualise the Counter-Revolution necessary to restore than which came before the inauthentic and illegitimate implementation of a revolution that pre-existed the calling of the Council, the Council that was called for by faithful Catholics like Ottaviani and Ruffini.
Authorities fear the response were they to act as decisively and forcefully as did the revolutionaries of the 60s Synod which is an unspoken confession that they accept the consequences of the revolution so the faithful will not become alarmed.
The authorities that will succeed Francis will inherit a church nearly entirely destroyed and they will not do what is necessary - establish a Counter-Revolution -because "There has already been way too much change" and so their inaction will tend to secure and preserve the modernist triumphs of the revolution.
They will want peace while their leader - Jesus Christ - did not come to bring peace but the truth and truth divides:
Matthew Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's enemies shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me
Authorities who succeed Francis and his Bishops must do everything in their power (and they have a LOT of power, legislative, juridical and coercitive) to restore what the revolutionaries destroyed but they have become too worldy and they want the world to love and accept them as peaceful men.
Jesus taught them the the world will hate them as it hated Him (IF they act like He commanded them to act) but, as we well know - Paul Vi told the Roman Clergy that he could have disciplined the untoward but he "Wanted to be loved - " and the wold loves Francis.
I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this:

Even Massimo Faggioli is now remarking on the hyperubersuperpapalism that now emanates from Rome: documents drafted by sycophants who cite no one and nothing other than Francis. Not even the Council!
