At the Glasgow Event, they had a mock up of part of a dinosaur, which advised the viewers, in perfect English, that it isn't very nice to become extinct.
I am at a loss to know ... even in its own terms ... what the logic of this demonstration is supposed to be. Were they really suggesting that, had Conference Venues existed all those millennia ago ... had there been tiny Swedes running around saying Blah Blah ... somehow or other the meteor whose impact led to the extinction of the dinosaurs would have been averted?
Does it "matter", in the view of these people, when one species is replaced by others, as the dinosaurs were by the mammals including us? If so, in their view, why?
We are surrounded by madmen.
I'm sorry this comment doesn't have anything directly to do with your post. But given the "synodal process" going on in dioceses and the Synod on Synodality going on for the next few years, we desperately need someone to translate this and disseminate what it teaches:

Benedict XIV is one of the greatest scholar Popes ever. And he has written extensively on this topic! How can this be tackled for the good of the Church?!?! Do you know someone, Father, who could do this? Maybe you yourself could translate the table of contents and post about it so others could see what is contained in the work. God bless you!

ReplyDelete17 The Lord will take his zeal as his whole armor, and will arm all creation to repel his enemies;
18 he will put on righteousness as a breastplate, and wear impartial justice as a helmet;
19 he will take holiness as an invincible shield,
20 and sharpen stern wrath for a sword, and creation will join with him to fight against the madmen.
Joseph
ReplyDelete“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us.” ― St. Antony the Great.
Joseph.
Constantly annoying is the inexorable refrain, 'Save The Planet.'
ReplyDeleteThe planet is not in danger. No sizeable asteroid is scheduled to impact the planet any time soon nor is the sun due to engulf Earth for another few billion years.
The reality seems to be that profligate emission of greenhouse gases is causing the environment to become increasingly inimical to human existence. The cause is not so much saving the planet as saving our skins.
Consider this papal fervorino:
ReplyDelete'"The young, who in recent years have strongly urged us to act, will only inherit the planet we choose to leave to them, based on the concrete choices we make today," he said. "Now is the moment for decisions that can provide them with reasons for hope and trust in the future."
"Now is the time to act, urgently, courageously and responsibly," Francis said. "Not least, to prepare a future in which our human family will be in a position to care for itself and for the natural environment."
Who are the Promethean Neo-Pelagians now?
"when one species is replaced by others, as the dinosaurs were by the mammals including us?"
ReplyDeleteSounds like you buy into the idea that:
* there was an era of dinosaurs
* an era of mammals came after it
* we came in that era.
If you ask me, a Pterosaur from Ankerschlag and a Whale from Lienz don't represent different eras, but different habitats of pre-Flood Austria as up to 2957 BC.
And by then man had tested God's patience for 2242 years (though Julius Africanus prefers 2262).
