Is this Advent the proper occasion for us to offer Masses and Rosaries in reparation for all the offences done to the Divine Majesty since the demolition of the old liturgical culture, fifty years ago?
Yes Father, I think it is. Those of us who have suffered so grievously over this half century of course do not expect the monetary recompense awarded to so many affected by the post-Vatican Council II to initiative in not applying Church the canons to priests who abuse children. Nevertheless, can we not pray for the spiritual graces attendant to uniting our sufferings with those of our Lord on Calvary?
Patrick Sheridan -- It is well established, since the days of the martyrs and before, that Catholics should pray and do penitence and reparation for the sake of those who should be doing it but don't.So
The Sacred Heart devotion, like the Five Wounds and the Five First Saturdays, includes a lot of making reparation.for others as well as for oneself.
Yes. Certainly it is. Also for our own offences to Divine Majesty done by our longtime indiferentism and lukewarmness.

ReplyDeleteDid you have any part in those offences, father? If not, then I would counsel you no.
