Is PF a Sedevacantist?

A kind reader sent me a link to a bog called De omnibus dubitandum est. It provides a sweet little video showing a queue of Rigid and Pharisaical people, most of them almost certainly Pelagians or Gnostics, trying to kiss the Fisherman's Ring which, for some unaccountable reason, PF wears on his finger.

Each time, PF snatches his hand away before they can do this. It's the sort of mega-rapid snatch-away that you you might do if one of these new giant foreign hornets buzzed up to your hand and began to position its sting.

Then he uses the hand to shove each of these dodgy folk off to the side as fast as possible so that he can inflict the same boorish discourtesy upon the next in line.

Can it be that PF regards laypeople as Unclean! ... Unclean!! Surely not?

The only rationale I can think of for this is that, deep down, he has come to believe that he is not truly pope.

The blog then reminds us how keen PF was, not long ago, to have his hand kissed by a nearly naked young male circus performer. Joy wobbles in every pontifical jowl.

Ah, but that was before PF read Fr Cekada and realised the dreadful truth ...

So: who's been sending PF articles by Fr C ... c'mon, own up ...

Only joking ...

Some years ago my wife and were driving through Illinois and got caught in a snowstorm. We exited the Freeway and were fortunate to find a hotel room for the night. It was a Saturday. Next morning we headed to the nearest Catholic church for Mass.

Unsurprisingly, given the weather, there were few in attendance – a couple of dozen, at most. Surprisingly, there were two priests concelebrating - it being rare to find a parish with more than one priest. One was a young man, the other somewhat older.

Upon exiting, the older priest was shaking hands with everyone as they left. When I held out my hand he grasped it firmly and pulled me past him rather violently – almost knocking me over. I thought it strange at the time.

Later I did some research into the parish and the two priests in residence. It was rumored that they were an ‘item’ as they were always transferred together to successive parishes. The parish was in a diocese whose bishop had been forced to resign shortly before when it was revealed he was a predatory homosexual… Smoke...Fire...

Someone wrote that PF does not use a papal ring but his old cardinal or bishop's ring??? I think he does know he is pope; he does wear the white and he does wield the power but does he teach, preach, or defend the faith or act like a pope at all????? That's the thing: do not see the charism of the papacy in him. He is like some certain politicians following their own agenda and not caring who is upset by it. He is not a spiritual father at all. Sad to say.

Many a true word is spoken in jest.

I had never seen anything so boorish in my life. The behaviour reminded me of the Joker, who belittles and humiliates those around him, while all the time smiling.

But God is not a joker, and it is a sad day when the man who is supposed to be His Vicar on Earth behaves like one.

At least he said the Mass ad orientem. In the long run, this surely takes precedence.

There is a report that he refuses the papal ring, and wears his ring from Argentina. Can anyone confirm this, or at least rule it out?

Dear Father. Francis does indeed believe he is Pope but he is not about to allow any gestures from tradition to assault him for he is sui generis and each day for him is a new beginning for the Catholic Church.

Were Catholicism a beard, he'd look like Peppa Pig's father.

"Is PF a Sedevacantist?"

No, but he's making ME one....

I'm no fan of PF but I think he has been unfairly treated in this matter. Recall, if your will, the editing of the video of the boys from Covington Catholic High School.

I suspect that the good people of Widger whatever would agree with me.

LifeSite have updated their report by attaching the full 1.5 hour video https://youtu.be/Wu2l1VdetIg which shows that is a small part of a long queue of people many of whom do kiss the papal ring. It looks as though the Pope hurt his hand at some point and was trying to protect it without stopping the greeting process. I seem to find that most reports like this turn out to be misrepresentations. Many of them on a par with the smart-aleck pointing out that the bible has a sentence "There is no God". We always need context.

GOR: Whenever I read an account of a heretical sermon or a liturgical-abuse-fest, in which the name of the diocese, parish, and priest are all concealed, I wonder why. These things take place in public. They involve the betrayal of an official, public trust. Where does any expectation or right of confidentiality enter the picture?

Good commentary Fr. Hunwicke. We must laugh, lest we cry. I prefer to laugh if and when something humorous comes my way. I wish it happened more often. I laughed at your comments.
It really is incredible there are apologists trying to actually explain away what he is obviously doing, showing his venomous disdain for faithful Catholics. But we hear the sore hand theory, the tired hand theory, the cramped hand theory, the flu germ theory, and none of it makes one iota of sense. People can't help themselves, they must defend him from all criticisms.
But this one is blatantly and flatly on him. Edward Pentin says he often does this, but never so vehemently as this day, when he knows a camera is feet away recording. He's playing to an audience, but what audience? Who is he pleasing with his bait and switch magic trick, the disappearing hands. And look at the shove he gives some of the poor saps who dared to care to meet the pope, or the man who people call the pope anyway.
This is a sick man, a sick, sick man, who is not fit to sweep out Santa Martas, let alone play the part of St. Peter to Christendom. And reportedly, he found the reportage of this mistreatment "amusing". May God deliver us from this plague soon.

Or maybe you might be thinking of Peppa Pig’s mother or Peppa Pig herself. 😉

I read on one Catholic site or blog that after a Pope leaves office, they smash his papal ring and they even have a special silver hammer for just such an occasion. However, it seems that Pope Benedict XVI never wanted his papal ring smashed and he kept his ring intact on his finger. Furthermore, I’ve read that Francis doesn’t wear the official papal ring, but wears a bishop’s ring instead and calls himself the Bishop of Rome. Also, there’s a picture of Francis kissing the papal ring of Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI, but I don’t know if Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI has ever been photographed kissing Francis’ ring, although I’ve read that it’s only a Bishop’s ring, so that might explain it!
Anyway, it’s all very puzzling and disconcerting.

Fr. Cekada? I never bought into the who sedevacantism thing, but he is an excellent author, and there are some sermons by him on Youtube that are really excellent.

Francis' behavior is inexcusable. It must have been deeply embarrassing or insulting to the victims of his rude behavior. I can't wait until he is gone.
